“Commission Process” Information
Consultation
This step will help us bring together your vision for your future artwork: deciding things like size, composition, and style. Do we want the painting to be literal or whimsical? This is an important part of the process, and clients may be as involved with the planning of the painting as they would like to be.
Rough Sketch
Once the vision has taken shape, I will sketch the basic composition onto the canvas. The image will be emailed to you for approval.
Approval and Payment
After you’ve had time to review the rough sketch, I will collect payment before beginning the painting. Custom payment plans are available.
Reception
You will receive your finished and sealed painting, along with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Frequently asked questions:
When will I receive my painting?
During the Consultation you will be given an estimated date your project will be completed. Typically, the time from approval of sketch to reception of final piece is less than two months’ time.
Will I get updated pics of my painting?
This option is completely up to you! I’m happy to share progress pictures if you would like!
What size canvas to choose?
This is a personal choice, though I will offer artistic suggestions during the consultation. Any size canvas is available, from 5×7 and up. I also use wood panels and Canvas paper depending on client needs.
What kind of materials are used?
I paint with many different mediums from acrylic to gouache to watercolor. Each medium offers a different style and finish, and all are sealed or varnished at completion.
How much is shipping?
During the consultation we will decide whether the painting will be shipped or picked up in the Baton Rouge area. Shipping costs will be determined before final price is given. Your painting will be carefully and safely packed.
Will my painting be shared on social media?
This is entirely up to you! Please let me know during the consultation whether you are comfortable with your images being shared.
